Thank you to everyone who is reading my very first blog! I thought I would use this blog to tell you a little more about myself. I was born on the Oregon coast in 1992. I was raised on an 8 acre farm, and my favorite hobbies were spending time outside, crafts, and photography. I was also very active in sports such as gymnastics, Taekwondo, tennis, and swimming. Swimming was a huge part of my life, we even lived across the road from the Willamette River where I would swim regularly (I swear I learned how to swim before I even learned to walk). When I was old enough, I started swimming with the local swim club and then in high school I was on the swim team. My love for photography began when I was around the age of seven, when my dad gave me his old 1976 Pentax film camera. When I was ten, after saving up my chore and babysitting money I decided to purchase my first digital camera; a Sony point-and-shoot. I enjoyed taking photography classes in high school to better my skills.
Another huge interest of mine was animals. I had dogs, cats, and rabbits that I raised for 4H and FFA. Since the age of five, I planned on becoming a veterinarian. After graduating high school, I attended Oregon State University to achieve this career goal. During my junior year of college, I decided that my heart was no longer wanting to pursue this goal. I then finished out my degree focusing on animal behavior management, as well as a fisheries and wildlife minor. During college, I found another passion of mine; country western dancing. This was one of the highlights of my college years. I met so many friends through dancing, and it became my stress relief.
My husband Dillon and I met freshman year of high school when he moved from Oakridge Oregon, to Junction City. I had a crush on him since the beginning, but he saw me more as a friend. After graduating high school he entered into the Marine Corps to pursue his dreams of becoming a police officer, and I went away to college. We kept in contact, and three years after graduating high school we began dating. For the next year we had a long distance relationship as he was stationed in Virginia. After graduating from OSU, I decided I needed a little change, so I decided to pack up and move to Virginia to be with Dillon while he was finishing up his last year of enlistment. We got engaged after dating for two years, and planned our Oregon wedding all the way from Virginia. After our wedding, we went back to Virginia for a few months while Dillon finished up his enlistment. After a few months, we finally went on our "honeymoon", which consisted of us riding a dual sport motorcycle across 15 states over 26 days and 7,200 miles. It was a blast though! We saw so much of the U.S, some of my favorites were Cumberland Island, GA, Florida Keys, and the Grand Canyon.
After we returned to Oregon, we bought a home in Lebanon and I decided to start my photography business. As I said previously, I always had a huge interest in photography and thought that now was a good of time as ever to begin pursing another passion of mine. Over the last two and a half years since beginning my business, I have grown more and more in love with photography and love seeing the improvement in my work. My favorite photography genres consist of families and in hospital newborn session. My husband and I enjoy spending time outside and hiking to waterfalls, and my other favorite photography genre is slow motion waterfall images. Since I have such a love for the great outdoors, this is where my favorite place is to do photo sessions. I value client relationships and providing them with the full unique photography experience, from the moment you message me with an inquiry to the moment you receive your heirloom photos and products.
Well that is just about the gist of things; I suppose I will wrap up this first blog. Thank you to all those who read all of this, and I look forward to meeting you.
